I thank You, dear heavenly Father,
for Your goodness to me and to all mankind.
Help me to show my gratitude
by the way I use Your gifts.
Saved To Serve
With every privilege or blessing which we
enjoy goes a corresponding obligation.
And it is the nature of the new life that
the Christian wants to help others.
We are saved to serve.
The deep desire of the true Christian is,
"Bless me, Lord, and make me a blessing."
We must not be content merely to receive.
We must give ourselves in loving service for others.
All are to be laborers in God's vineyard,
and co-workers with God.
1 Corinthians 3:9
Every Christian should feel the unsaved, at home
and in heathen land, a burden on his heart.
He should have a passion for souls.
Every Christian should be a missionary;
every congregation, a missionary congregation; and
every organization should have a missionary point of view.
The call to us is not only, Come and be saved,
but, Come and help save the world.
"Go ye therefore, and teach
If we cannot go, we can help send those who can go.
The motive should be love for Christ
and love for all those whom He loves.
"The love of Christ constraineth us"
(2 Corinthians 5:14)
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds
them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of
Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body
you were called to peace. And be thankful.
